Zachary Project Room at HHC

May 13, 2026 by Carol Higgins-Taylor

I am touched beyond words and filled with gratitude knowing we are helping others.

Where do I even begin to say how incredibly proud I am of my niece, Robin?

Last night, the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce hosted a Business After Hours event to unveil the beautiful new HOMETOWN Health Center facility in Palmyra. This has been a dream of my niece, Robin Winslow, for more than 20 years. Through incredible dedication, fundraising, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to her community, that dream has finally become a reality.

This new state-of-the-art facility in central Maine will provide medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and wellness services to the community. It is truly an incredible accomplishment and such a tremendous asset to our region.

What makes this even more meaningful to our family is that The Zachary Project will have a dedicated room within the wellness center — complete with a private entrance to provide confidentiality and a safe, welcoming space for treatment, counseling, and support services for those in need.

I want to personally thank my amazing board members — Carla Witham Littlefield, Robin Winslow, Deanna Witham, Carol Higgins Taylor, Juanita Taylor, and Darlene George — for helping make this dream a reality for us.

But the deepest thank you goes out to every single person who gave their time, support, donations, and belief in this mission. This room belongs to all of you, too. Your kindness and generosity will touch lives in ways we may never fully see.

I truly believe my son, Zachary, is looking down on all of us, saying thank you for keeping his memory alive while helping others who need support, healing, and hope.

My saying has always been: It takes a village.

I am beyond blessed to have such an amazing village.
